Nexus 7 Windows 10 Driver
I have made drivers work for the 2012 nexus 7, and a few other android devces. I just got 6 2013 nexus 7's and can not seem to get the drivers installed. I upgraded the software to 6.0.1. But i am unable to get to the screen shown.
Disabled connecting as MTP and enabled as PTP (camera), as some good guys figured out here: How do I get my Nexus 7 to show up in the adb devices list? Tried restarting ADB server, re-plugging USB, etc. So installing Google USB driver has good chance of fixing your Nexus 6P driver issue with Windows 10, 8, 7 or XP, whichever you use on your PC. Download Google USB driver File name: latest_usb.

Adb does not find any devices. In ptp mode, windows finds most of these and assigns a usb driver 6.3.9600.17415 dated 2006. Trying update the driver to add a more specific driver fails because windows does not know it's a phone. Using have disk fails when opening the.inf file like these:,,.
In charging mode, windows device manager thinks it's a google nexus adb interface, but does not show and phone options. Have disk fails also. So adb devices fails. This used to work somehow, but i deleted some of the drivers. Plugging in a 2012 nexus 7 shows up as an android composite adb interface and he shows up in adb list-devices. Does anyone know a way out of this trap? Edit may be part of the problem.
Tried to disable driver signature verification, but no joy. Trying shazar's idea required an uninstall (repair failed) of the clockwork driver, so some (5/6) of the devices are using the clockwork driver version 7.0.0.4 8/27/2012 when the nexus is in ptp mode. Another is not recognized (no connection info when swiped down from the top).
I had recently upgraded my laptop from Windows 8.1 to 10. Since the upgrade, I am unable to connect my Android devices as MTP (or Portable Media Player) devices on Windows.
The devices that I am using are Nexus 4, Samsung Grand 2 and Kindle Fire HD 7'. Prior to the upgrade I was able to view these as Portable Devices.
All of these are displaying as Android ADB devices. I have tried the usual procedure of deleting that from Device Manager, and choosing Windows to choose an appropriate driver. Windows 10 doesn't even display an option to add these as MTP USB devices or USB Composite Devices. I have attempted to connect these devices to another Windows 8 machine that I have and they work pretty fine. Can someone help me with a solution? MTP is a protocol associated to Windows Media Player but Windows 10 does not include the WMP.
The Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10 will install Media Player and related technologies on a computer running Windows 10 N or Windows 10 KN editions. The new package to download is: As in the documentation: This update supersedes update 3010081 in Windows 10 build 1511. New version for Windows anniversary update 1607 KB3133719. The download of the Media Package may solve this, however I don't have Media Player at home on my Windows 10 Pro N Machine & can connect my removable devices perfectly fine. You may need to download the Android drivers from Google's page here: This is part of the Android SDK, so when you download it, select the USB Driver Package and install that. I had some issues with Windows 7 and Android Drivers, Windows 8 seemed to fix it hence why 10 is fine for me.
Give that a try though and let us know how you get on:) HTH.
