Does Costco Install Tires Bought Elsewhere

Tire Installation Requirements. Costco will not perform services on tires purchased by non-members. Costco will only install tires authorized for a specific vehicle. Always use the Costco Auto Buying program when looking for a new vehicle. I saved about $800 on my last motorcycle purchase through it. Insurance through Costco can be hit or miss.

I've heard several people say that the Michelin tires sold at a discount by Costco are inferior to ones sold elsewhere under the same model name. Does anyone on TCL know how true this is? Or is this a rumor made up by places that can't sell tires as cheap? I know this practice happens on some other products sold at places like Costco and Walmart to keep prices low but wondered if Michelin is in on it too.Just check the part number. If it's the same, it's the same tire.

I highly doubt they are any different than the broad market stuff. There are some places that have specific models for their stores and that type of thing but they are a different model name. Places like Costco and Walmart to keep prices lowYou shut your whore mouth. Don't dare put Costco in the same category as that other place. Costco sells name-brand products in larger quantities for better prices. They don't sell crap versions of those products, or second-quality items, it's all first-quality. Costco also sells major-brand products under it's own 'Kirkland' brand which are 'private label' products.

This goes for food, alcohol, and hard products. I don't believe that Costco would be selling inferior Michelins, especially if they're the exact labeling as ones bought elsewhere and not a unique model name. Mc hack download. Seeing that thread is what reminded me! They're just so cheap compared to everywhere else.Long ago (1970's-1980's) this was common practice. A given manufacturer would 'bin' each model of tire that was made.

The best tires were provided tot he OEMs (who were the biggest customers), the moderate tires were generally provided to OEM car dealers as replacements and other premium national-chain tire stores, and the inferior (but still perfectly road legal, etc.) tires were provided to discount tire sellers. This was always why brand new cars rarely had many tire-balancing weights on them, but when you replaced the tire at a discount shop, a number of weights were used (inferior tires tend to be less well balanced). I know that this occurred to some degree back then.

Presently, however, I have no idea. You shut your whore mouth. Don't dare put Costco in the same category as that other place. Costco sells name-brand products in larger quantities for better prices. Costco isn't in the business of selling cheap crap. Do you know how hard it is to get your product onto Costco shelves in the first place? They can afford to pick from the best of the best in products. How about sharing with us where this rumor came from so we can further tell you how wrong you are?
